Classic Italian Lasagna

Lasagna is one of my favorite dishes.  I always have it when I go out to eat for Italian.  However, I my absolute favorite is my own classic lasagna recipe.  Here’s to sharing my beloved and delicious recipe with you all.

Classic Italian Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 4 cups of Italian Blend Shredded Cheese
  • 4 cups of Mozzarella Shredded Cheese
  • 1 Egg
  • 32 oz of Meat Sauce
  • 1 lb of Ground Sirloin
  • Oregano
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Onion
  • Garlic

Instructions

  1. Boil Lasagna pasta al dente (these instructions are on the box). Brown your ground sirloin, and drain. Add meat sauce to your browned meat and let simmer on med-lo. In a bowl; combine ricotta cheese, 4 cups of Italian blended shredded cheese and 2 cups of mozzarella shredded cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, Oregano, garlic, and onion.
  2. In a large pan (9x13), spread a layer of meat sauce mixture to coat bottom of pan. Add a layer of pasta, then a layer of cheese mixture. Repeat until all the pasta is layered and top off with 2 cups of mozzarella cheese.
  3. Cover with foil and bake on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-40 minutes, or until cheese on top is completely melted.

Do you have a favorite Italian dish? – Mines of course is lasagna!  Now only to think of what the next Italian dish I’ll make.  I’m thinking a manicotti or homemade ravioli. We shall see!
